Peer Tutors

Peer Tutors at Richmond are current students who are paid by the University to offer academic support to others across a range of subject areas. If you’re finding a particular topic challenging, at least one of our Tutors is likely to have relevant experience that they can share.

Peer Tutors don’t do your work for you (this is likely to be considered plagiarism). Instead, they offer guidance and supporting knowledge to help you achieve your potential. If you do request a Peer Tutor, you will be asked to accept several terms and conditions which make the role of the Tutor, and our expectations of you, clear.

Peer Tutoring is paid for by the University and so we encourage any students to participate who may benefit.

Please have a look at our tutor profiles below and make contact using the email links at the bottom of each profile.

Pia Ruparel

Psychology Major

Hi everyone! I’m a psychology student at Richmond and I love meeting new people and getting involved in student activities. I’d describe myself as friendly, approachable, and always happy to help or just have a chat. Through volunteering and leadership experiences, I’ve really enjoyed creating supportive and positive spaces for others, and I’d love for you to feel comfortable reaching out to me anytime!

Anita Karki

International Business Management (Postgraduate)

University life is about more than just lectures and homework. It is about personal growth, meaningful experiences, and the people and communities that shape our journey. I am Anita Karki, an MSc International Business Management student at Richmond American University London.

Having been a part of various communities during my time in the BBA program in Nepal, I learned that belonging and community influence ideas and thoughts, as well as personal development and growth. This has encouraged me to be a part of a campus that welcomes, connects, and supports all students.

I work towards creating a stronger and more inclusive student body through encouraging open communication, student engagement, and equal representation of student voices. I want to facilitate student forums and activities for students to share ideas and concerns and be informed and involved in campus discussions and events.

I am friendly, approachable, and like to work with people of different backgrounds. Being from a rich culturally diverse country has enabled me to gain an understanding of other perspectives and to establish positive relationships with people. By working together, communicating and leading, I hope to make a positive difference for everyone on campus by making it more connected, engaging and supportive.

Annet Masinde

Marketing & Data Analytics (Postgraduate)

Hi, I’m Annet! I wear a few hats here at Richmond — Peer Tutor, Cultural Ambassador, Student Hub Assistant, and Residential Advisor — but the thread running through all of them is the same: I genuinely care about making your experience here as smooth, supported, and enjoyable as possible. Whether you need academic guidance and a safe space to ask questions without judgement, someone to help you feel seen and celebrated within our beautifully diverse community, a friendly face at the Student Hub to point you in the right direction, or a reliable presence in your residence when university life feels a little overwhelming, I am here for all of it. I have been in your shoes — navigating a new environment, new expectations, and new people — and I want to be the person I wished I had when I first arrived. My door, both literally and figuratively, is always open
