Library Assistant

Richmond Library, Chiswick Campus

3 Part-time, fixed-term positions commencing in Spring 2025 Semester
An average of 8 hours per week covering weekday evenings and weekends
Pay £11.44 per hour
 
Applications are invited from students with an interest in working in the Library at the Chiswick Campus. Main duties include staffing the circulation desk, book-processing, shelving and shelf tidying.
 
Candidates must be well organised and reliable and have good communication and customer service skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required. Previous experience of customer service in a retail or library setting would be an advantage. You should enjoy working with students and colleagues from a wide range of cultures and work well as part of a team.

The RAUL Digital Ambassador scheme is a chance for you to showcase your creativity, gain work experience, explore your interests, and share what being a RAUL student means to you. We want you to create content across video, social media, blogs, photography and audio.
We employ talented students to represent RAUL throughout the year across our social media channels and the ‘I am Richmond’ blog. As a RAUL Digital Ambassador, you will join a vibrant Marketing, Recruitment and Communications team and help
social media coverage for RAUL events such as open days, vox pop events, public lectures etc
showcase the RAUL story through the ‘I am Richmond’ blog
support promoting RAUL across social media channels including microblogging, student takeovers and messaging
work towards increasing Richmond’s share of voice and content engagement (likes, shares and positive comments)

Being a Student Ambassador is an excellent way to earn while you learn, gain valuable work experience, develop new skills, and build your future network. Student Ambassadors will have the opportunity to work with people of all ages, nationalities and backgrounds and it is an excellent way of demonstrating your communication and team-building skills, working on a variety of events, both on campus and around London.
Ideally, you will be passionate about RAUL and eager to share your best uni experiences with prospective students, overseas visitors, and school leavers, through a range of activities:
-Deliver campus tours
-Help with open days and other on-campus events
-Give presentations in schools and colleges
-Represent RAUL at HE Fairs
-Online web chats
-Telephone calls to applicants

Commitment required
The post is completely flexible around your studies as academic commitments should come first. Student Ambassadors will be informed of events such as Open Days and Applicant Days taking place each semester and can sign up to work as desired. International students should ensure that they are not working more than the maximum number of hours as detailed on their visa during term-time
