The growth of interest shown by transnational crime groups and the production of fraudulent and counterfeit goods has been variously noted (see for instance, Marine, 2006; Phillips, 2007; UNODC, 2011; Zehra, 2022). However, the reach of transnational organized crime goes much deeper than designer clothing and counterfeit medicines.

In this short presentation Dr. Andy Bain discusses the ways in which transnational organized crime has sought to diversify its industry to look for new and inventive ways to increase revenue, which has led to new partnerships and the restitution of illicit trade routes as they expand their reach to new global markets.
