SUMMARY:Poetry Reading with James Ragan
DESCRIPTION:IVAC is delighted to invite Faculty\, Staff and Students to a very special poetry reading to be given by the distinguished poet\, playwright and screenwriter James Ragan.  \nJames Ragan\n \nThis event will be held at 12.30pm on Wednesday 22nd October in Classroom 12.\n \nJames holds an honorary degree from Richmond\, has authored 12 books of poetry\, and worked as a production assistant and screenwriter on numerous films. He worked as a Professor and Director of the Professional Writing Program at the University of Southern California for 25 years. In 1985 he read with Nobel prize winners Seamus Heaney and Bob Dylan for Mikhail Gorbachev at the Moscow International Poetry Festival. He has won many international awards and is visiting Richmond on his way from receiving the Gold Medal of Honor from the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs for his Ambassadorship to the Arts.
